Hurricanes Set for Exhibition Game against DT3 Wednesday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – – Fans can get an early look at the University of Miami women’s basketball team Wednesday, Halloween night, when third-year head coach Katie Meier and the Hurricanes host DT3 at the BankUnited Center at 7 p.m. in a preseason exhibition game. Admission is free to the public.
The Hurricanes return three starters and eight letterwinners. UM welcomes six newcomers. Senior guard Maurita Reid is the team’s leading returner in scoring, rebounding and steals. Reid averaged 14.6 points per game in 2006-07. Former Hurricane Yalonda McCormick plays for DT3.
Miami opens the regular season with a six-game home stand which includes the Big Ten/ACC Women’s Basketball Challenge and UM Thanksgiving Tournament. The Hurricanes will host Florida Atlantic on Friday, Nov. 9, at noon in the season opener for both teams.
Season ticket packages for the 2007-08 season start at just $75 dollars and include admission to all 19 home games. Fans can also purchase the Family Plan and receive admission to all home games for two adults and three children for just $100 dollars.
