Miami Wraps Up First Round Action at Wildcat Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior Jessica Steward of the University of Miami women’s golf team fired a two-over par, 74 Saturday to close out the first round of the 2007 Wildcat Invitational in a tie for 13th place on the individual leaderboard.

Steward’s 74 was part of a UM combined effort of 317 which landed the Hurricanes into 10th place after Saturday’s first round at the University Club of Kentucky.

Freshman Christina Hirano put together a first-round 77 to finish tied for 28th while fellow classmate Maria Ronderos shot an 82 to tie for 54th. Senior Hagen Weintraub heads into the second round tied for 60th following a first-round 84.

Second round action at the Wildcat Invitational will pick-up Sunday followed by Monday’s final round.
