Hurricanes Lose 75-68 to Boston College

CORAL GABLES, Fla.(AP) – Jared Dudley scored 26 points to lead Boston College to a 75-68 victory over Miami on Wednesday night.
Dudley scored nine consecutive points in a 2:22 span late in the second half to put the Eagles ahead for good 65-60 with 3:37 remaining in the game.
Tyrese Rice secured the victory for the Eagles (17-6, 8-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) with six free throws and a field goal in the final 2:04. Reese finished with 21 points.
The roster-depleted Hurricanes, which dressed only seven scholarship players, stayed within striking distance throughout the game. Denis Clemente’s 3-pointer with 6:26 remaining tied it 60-60.
Clemente led the Hurricanes with 24 points while Jack McClinton added 14.
Miami (9-15, 2-8) has now lost seven straight.
John Oates scored seven points in a 12-2 run to start the second half which put the Eagles ahead 44-37 with 14:18 remaining in the game.
But the Hurricanes responded with a 9-2 run in the next 4:31. Clemente keyed the run with a field goal and 3-pointer.
Miami opened to a 15-7 lead in the in the first 6:24.
The Eagles ran off nine unanswered points in the next 3:04 to take the lead 16-15.
Clemente scored four his first half 14 points on consecutive layups to put the Hurricanes ahead 32-29 with 2:05 remaining in the first half.
