Miami Falls 82-64 at Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. – Mississippi used a 20-0 run to open the second half en route to knocking off Miami 82-64 Thursday afternoon at Tad Smith Coliseum.
UM (8-5) senior guard Renee Taylor scored a team-high 24 points for the Hurricanes while Ole Miss’ (9-3) Arminite Price registered a game-high 26 points with nine steals and eight rebounds.
Miami traded baskets with Mississippi through the first half as the two teams headed into halftime knotted up at 37-all.
Coming out of the break the Rebels scored 20 unanswered points through the first seven and a half minutes to jump out to a 57-37 lead and never looked back.
Ole Miss out-rebounded the Hurricanes by a total of 50-to-32 and forced 28 Miami turnovers, led by Price’s nine steals.
Miami junior guard Maurita Reid scored 14 points with six rebounds in the UM loss.
The Hurricanes take a week-long break for the Holidays before hosting the annual UM Holiday Tournament Dec. 28-29 at the BankUnited Center.
