CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Junior guard Maurita Reid turned in 21 pints with three steals to lift Miami to an 85-42 victory over Nicholls State Friday evening at the BankUnited Center in the opening day of the UM Thanksgiving Tournament.
The 43-point victory over the Lady Colonels (0-5) marks the first time Miami (5-1) has held an opponent to 42 or fewer points since a 39-37 loss to Rutgers Jan. 27, 2001.
The Hurricanes advance to Saturday’s championship game where they will face Indiana, who defeated Wright State 73-52 earlier Friday, at 7 p.m.
