UM Defeats Barry, 76-37

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – Senior Renee Taylor (Harlem, N.Y.) poured in a game-high 21 points to lead the University of Miami to a 76-37 exhibition game win over Barry University Saturday morning at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla.
Taylor, one of only two seniors on the roster, is Miami’s top returning scorer from last season having averaged 15.6 points per game a year ago.
A pair of UM newcomers were also impressive. Freshman Charmaine Clark (Hinesville, Ga.) scored 15 points while junior college transfer Maurita Reid (Queens, N.Y.) added 10 in the win.
Sophomore Christina Thompson (Mesquite, Texas) led Barry with seven points.
Miami opens its regular season against Georgia State on November 11 at 7 p.m. at the BankUnited Center.
