(hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s track and field team debuted at the eighth spot in this outdoor season’s first Trackwire 25 rankings. The Hurricanes have 28 points, and are the highest ranked ACC team.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
All-American Tabia Charles leads the individual competitors for the Hurricanes being ranked fourth in the triple jump and eighth in the long jump. All-American Brenda Faluade joins her in both those events, being ranked fifth in the triple jump and seventh in the long jump.
Other Hurricanes include All-American Dominique Darden, who is ranked fifth in the 400 hurdles, school record holder Khadija Talley, ranked ninth in the discus, and All-Americans Ginou Etienne and Charlette Greggs, both ranked 11th in the 400 meters and 200 meters respectively.
The Hurricane relays, the 4×100 and 4×400 meter are both ranked fourth.
