4th Annual Hurricanes Salute to Women in Sports

Coral Gables, Fla. (www. hurricanesports.com) – – On Thursday, February 9, 2006, the University of Miami Athletic Department will host the 4th Annual Women in Sports Day event for 300 middle school girls at the Knight Sports Complex and Cobb Stadium on the UM campus.

The event will begin with opening ceremonies featuring the University of Miami Head Women’s Basketball coach, Katie Meier. The children will have the opportunity to work on their skills in five different sports with help from members of the UM Volleyball, Rowing, Soccer, and Cheerleading teams.

The event will conclude with all the participants attending the Hurricanes vs. Florida State women’s basketball game at the BankUnited Center.
