Hurricanes Upset No. 21 Eagles

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP)– Tamara James scored 25 points to lead Miami to a 82-68 victory over No. 22 Boston College on Thursday night.
The Hurricanes put together a 25-3 run over the last part of the first half and the start of the second. James finished off the spurt with a three-point play to make it 45-31 Miami with 17:41 left.
Lisa Macchia went 9-for-9 from the field and finished with 19 points for Boston College (12-6, 0-4 Atlantic Coast Conference). Her three-point play with 10:37 remaining cut the lead to 53-46 but the Eagles couldn’t get any closer.
Renee Taylor scored 21 points for Miami (13-4, 3-1).
James scored eight points, including two 3-pointers, during a 12-0 run late in the first half as the Hurricanes overcame a 28-20 deficit. James’ second 3-pointer with 1:30 remaining gave Miami its first lead of the game at 30-28.
Miami began its comeback with full court pressure. Boston College finished with 29 turnovers.
Boston College enjoyed its biggest lead of the half 24-13 on Sarah Marshall’s short jumper with 7:01 left. Taylor then converted on a three-point play and James followed with a 3-pointer.
