The Game The Hurricanes will take on Fairleigh Dickinson Friday night at 7 p.m. at the BankUnited Center with what will be the fourth game of a five-game, nine-day stretch.Radio, Television and Internet BroadcastThe game will be broadcast live on WVUM (90.5 FM) and can also be HEARD LIVE on hurricanesports.com, which will also feature live scoring and stats.The Hurricanes The Hurricanes are 3-1 early this season after suffering their first loss of the year last time out in a 68-61 decision to George Mason. National Player of the Year candidate, senior forward Tamara James leads the Hurricanes in both scoring (22.0 ppg) and rebounding (9.3 rpg). Also averaging double-figure scoring for UM are junior guard Renee Taylor and senior guard Melissa Knight, with 13.0 points and 13.5 points per game, respectively. UM has seen an increase in production from freshman center Brittany Denson, who is averaging 10 points and eight rebounds over the last two games.The Knights Fairleigh Dickinson is 2-2 following an 84-65 loss at St. John’s Wednesday night. The Patriots are led by sophomore guards Shanay Freeman and Megan Kirkland, who both enter Wednesday’s game averaging 10.5 points per game. Kirkland also leads the FDU roster in rebounding (7.0 rpg). Senior forward Krissy Suckhow sits at third on the team in scoring with 10.3 points per game.The Series Friday’s game will mark the first meeting between the Hurricanes and the Knights.What to Watch For Miami is 117-71 (.622) against non-conference opponents…The Hurricanes are 28-12 (.700) in home games at the BankUnited Center, formerly known as the Convocation Center…Miami ranks third in the ACC in three-pointers made per game, hitting an average of 7.25 three’s per contest…UM’s Tamara James has scored in double figures in 34-straight games…At least one UM player has recorded a double-double in three of the first four games this season…The Hurricane are allowing just 2.5 points per game on the fast break.Game Promotions Miami Hurricane women’s basketball fans will have the opportunity to collect player trading cards during all home games.
