James Named Preseason All-ACC Selection

Miami senior forward Tamara James has been named to the Preseason All-ACC Team as determined by a voted of media and head coaches of the Atlantic Coast Conference.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
The selection marks the second preseason All-ACC honor for James, a native of <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Dania, Fla., who also garnered preseason All-ACC marks last year in UM’s inaugural campaign in the league. Last season, she went on to lead the ACC in scoring, averaging 22.3 points per game to earn First Team All-ACC and WBCA and AP Honorable Mention All-America honors.
A 2005-06 National Player of the Year candidate, James enters the season ranked third all-time at UM in career scoring average (20.0 ppg) and currently sits at fourth place all-time with 1,761 points
Under the direction of first-year head coach Katie Meier, James and the Hurricanes will kick-off the 2005-06 season Nov. 18 hosting Samford at 7 p.m. at the ConvocationCenter.
