Orlando, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami junior Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, Fla.) placed 18th in a time of 25:31 to lead the men’s cross country team to a third-place finish out of 31 teams at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.

The Hurricanes, ranked 15th in the South Region, had five runners finish in the top-50 individually including sophomore Tom Berry (Stamford, Conn.) who placed 21st (26:04.97), sophomore Jon Scheiner (Katy, Texas) who finished 26th (26:22.30), sophomore Zach Castiglione (Brighton, Mich.) who took 27th (26:23.20) and junior James Mullaly (Ellicott City, Md.) who placed 50th (26:58.03).

Miami has now finished in the top-4 of all four meets this season. In addition, Brutvan has been Miami’s top finisher at every event.

Miami returns to action on Friday, October 15 in a dual meet against FIU beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Tropical Park in Miami.
