CBS To Air NCAA Track and Field Championships this Saturday

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – UM fans will have the opportunity to see junior Lauryn Williams (Rochester, Pa.) capture her first NCAA National Title in the 100-meters when CBS airs a two-hour recap of the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, June 19 from 4-6 p.m. (ET).

Williams dominated the field at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas winning the 100-meter title in a blistering time of 10.97 seconds, the fastest time in the world this season. Williams also ran the second leg of the 4×100-meter relay that placed third.

As a team the Hurricanes finished tied for 10th with 22 points marking the best finish and highest point total in school-history. Miami also set a school record with 12 All-America honors during the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Championships bettering the old mark of 10 set last season. The Hurricanes have now registered a total of 80 All-America honors (50 outdoor, 30 indoor) since the 1991 season.
