The Hurricanes Host Providence In Regular Season Finale

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The Miami women’s basketball team will host Providence in its regular season finale Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.

Miami will honor four seniors in their last home game; Vera Arsova (Stip, Macedonia), Chanivia Broussard (Miami, Fla.), Shaquana Wilkins (Plymouth, Fla.) and Hutashi Wilson (Toronto, Canada).

The Hurricanes (21-5, 10-5 BIG EAST) enter the contest on the winning path after beating West Virginia 82-74 Saturday night at home.

The Friars (4-22, 0-15 BIG EAST) have lost 15 games in a row, including a 76-59 loss to Georgetown Saturday afternoon.

Miami is currently tied for fourth place with Boston College and West Virginia in the BIG EAST standings at 10-5. Miami would earn the No. 4 seed in the tiebreaker, claming wins over BC and WVU this season.

The No. 1 through No. 4 seeds earn a bye in the first round of the BIG EAST tournament.

The Friars are last in the conference standings at 0-15.

Miami beat PC 86-67earlier this season in Providence. The Hurricanes lead the all-time series 16-6 and have won eight of the last 10 meetings.

Tamara James (Dania, Fla.) leads the Hurricanes with 16.7 points per game.

Gayle Nwafili leads the Friars with 11.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
