No. 22 Miami Hosts Seton Hall

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The No. 22 ranked University of Miami women’s basketball returns home after a two-game road swing, hosting Seton Hall Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Convocation Center.

The Hurricanes (19-4, 8-4 BIG EAST) enter the contest on a three-game winning streak after beating Syracuse 85-65 in Manley Field House Wednesday night.

The Pirates (14-9, 6-6 BIG EAST) lost their last outing, falling to Virginia Tech at home 48-42 Wednesday night.

Miami is in a three-way tie with Boston College and Villanova for fourth place in the BIG EAST standings at 8-4 in conference play.

Seton Hall is in ninth place with a 6-6 conference record.

Miami leads the all-time series 12-9 over SHU and has won eight of the last 10 meetings.

The Pirates beat Miami in overtime last season, winning 78-71 in South Orange, N.J.

Miami sophomore Tamara James (Dania, Fla.) became the 17th women’s basketball player in school history to reach her 1,000-point career mark. She scored a team-high 26 points in the win over Syracuse to reach her 1,000th point. Her career total stands at 1, 016 points. She leads the team in scoring averaging 16.6 points per game.

Seton Hall has one player averaging in double figures, junior Ashley Bush leads the team with 10.7 points per game.
