CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The Miami women’s basketball team looks to stay on the winning path hosting Richmond Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Convocation Center.

The Hurricanes enter the contest undefeated at 8-0 overall, while the Richmond Spiders are 6-2 on the season.

Miami is coming off of a 74-53 victory over Dartmouth Tuesday night. Richmond fell to No. 16 LSU 76-53 in the championship game of the www.womenscollegehoops.com Classic Thursday night in Baton Rouge, La.

Richmond has faced three undefeated teams this season and handed all three their first loss of the season. The Spiders beat Florida (98-88), Georgetown (62-60) and Arkansas State (76-56) when all three were undefeated.

The Spiders boast an RPI of No. 5 according to the latest WBCA/Summerville RPI; the Hurricanes have an RPI of No. 37.

This will be the first-ever meeting between Miami and Richmond.

All five Miami starters continue to average in double figures with sophomore Tamara James (Dania, Fla.) leading the team with 17.9 points per game. Senior Shaquana Wilkins (Plymouth, Fla.) leads UM with 6.8 rebounds per game.

Four of Richmond’s starters average in double-digits with sophomore Saona Chapman leading the team with 15.5 points per game. Junior Kate Flavin leads the team with 8.8 boards per game.
