The Hurricanes Remain Undefeated

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The Miami women’s basketball team used a second-half surge to beat visiting Dartmouth 74-53 Tuesday night in the Convocation Center.
The Hurricanes (8-0) remain undefeated on the season, while the Big Green even out at 3-3 overall.
Four Miami players scored in double-digits with sophomore Tamara James (Dania, Fla.) leading the pack with 18 points on the night.
Junior Yalonda McCormick (Miami, Fla.) scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds, while senior Shaquana Wilkins (Plymouth, Fla.) added 10 points and six rebounds.
Sophomore Tatjana Marincic (Mississauga, Ontario) scored a career-high 11 points and dished out a career-high seven assists off the bench for UM.
Miami opened the game on a 10-2 run and never lost the lead. The Hurricanes led by as many as 10 points in the first half, taking a 33-27 advantage into the locker room at the intermission.
The Hurricanes shot 50 percent in the second half outscoring the Big Green 41-26. Miami forced 20 opponent turnovers on the night.
Miami shot 44.6 percent compared to 34.0 percent for Dartmouth.
Miami is back in action Sunday at 2 p.m. hosting Richmond in the Convocation Center.
