Women's Basketball Hosts Florida

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The Miami women’s basketball team plays host to in-state rival Florida Friday at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center.
Miami (6-0) plays its second game of a seven game home stand after starting the season with five games on the road.
The Hurricanes beat Florida International 78-58 in their last outing 10 days ago on Tuesday Dec. 2.
Florida (5-1) ends a seven-game road swing at Miami. The Gators beat Oakland 76-72 Tuesday night in Calif.
Miami’s 6-0 start marks the best start in school history. The Gators are currently on a three-game winning streak. Florida’s only loss of the season was at Richmond (98-88) on Nov. 25.
Florida owns a 28-12 advantage over Miami in the all-time series. The Gators have beaten Miami in the last eight meetings, including a 76-67 victory over UM in Gainesville last season.
Tamara James leads the team in scoring with 17.7 points per game. All five Miami starters are averaging in double-digits.
Florida has four players averaging in double-digits with Vanessa Hayden leading the pack with 19.7 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.
