Hurricanes Face Weber State In California

MORAGA, Calif.-The Miami women’s basketball team plays its fourth straight game on the road facing Weber State in the first round of the Hilton Concord Thanksgiving Classic Friday at 8 p.m. EST in Moraga, Calif.
Saint Mary’s (Calif.) is hosting the tournament and will face Bradley University in the second game of the first round at 11 p.m. EST. On Saturday, Bradley will face either Weber State or Miami at 8 p.m. EST and Saint Mary’s will face either Weber State or Miami at 11 p.m. EST.
The Hurricanes enter the contest 3-0 on the season, while Weber State enters the contest 0-2 overall.
This will be the first meeting between Miami and Weber State. The Wildcats finished with a 22-9 record in 2002-03, including a NCAA Tournament berth and a first place Big Sky Conference finish.
Miami is coming off of a 62-55 victory over South Florida Tuesday night in the Sun Dome in Tampa, Fla. Yalonda McCormick (Miami, Fla.) scored 18 points to lead the Hurricanes to victory.
McCormick averages 13.3 points and 7.0 assists per game for UM. Tamara James (Dania, Fla.) leads Miami with 20.3 points per game.
The Wildcats fell 78-74 to the University of Idaho Monday night.
Junior Julie Gjertsen leads Weber State with 23.5 points and 7.5 rebounds over the first two contests.
The game will be broadcast live on WVUM (90.5 FM) or via the internet at hurricanesports.com.
