Women's Basketball Set To Face South Florida

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The Miami women’s basketball team will travel to Tampa, Fla. to face South Florida Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the third game of a five-game road swing to open the 2003-04 season.
The Hurricanes (2-0) opened the season winning both games of the Morehead Tourism Commission Tip-Off Classic in Morehead, Ky. this weekend.
Miami beat host Morehead State 93-54 on Saturday and Eastern Kentucky 90-81 Sunday afternoon.
South Florida (1-1) also opened the season this weekend beating Wagner College 64-48, before falling to Army 63-59.
Miami owns a 27-11 advantage over the Bulls in the all-time series. UM beat USF 60-49 in Coral Gables last season.
Tamara James (Dania, Fla.) leads the Hurricanes, averaging 26.0 points over the first two contests. James set a new career-high with 37 points in the win over EKU.
All five of Miami’s starters are averaging in double-digits with James leading the pack. Shaquana Wilkins (Plymouth, Fla.) and Melissa Knight (Philadelphia, Pa.) are averaging 11.5 points while Yalonda McCormick (Miami, Fla.) is averaging 11.0 and Chanivia Broussard (Miami, Fla.) is contributing 10.0 per game.
USF has one player averaging in double-digits with Jessica Dickson leading the team with 22.5 points per game.
