Hurricanes Drop Eastern Kentucky

MOREHEAD, KY (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami sophomore Tamara James (Dania, FL) poured in a career-high 37 points and senior Shaquana Wilkins recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Hurricanes (2-0) to a 90-81 victory over Eastern Kentucky (1-1) on Sunday at the Morehead Tourism Tip-Off Classic in Morehead, KY.
James, who also pulled down seven boards, connected on 14-18 from the field, including 1-3 from three-point range, and 8-12 from the line. As a team Miami shot 56 percent from the field while holding Eastern Kentucky to 35 percent shooting.
Miami led 45-36 at the half.
The Hurricanes return to action on Tuesday, November 25 when they hit the road once again to face South Florida in Tampa.
