Women's Basketball Plays Final Exhibition Game

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The Miami women’s basketball team plays its final exhibition game against the Tournament of Champions Monday at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center. Admission is Free.
Several student-athletes from the Hurricanes’ football, women’s rowing, women’s track, women’s volleyball, men’s tennis and women’s soccer programs will hand out Thanksgiving dinners to six Miami-area organizations prior to the start of the game.
The organizations will be arriving at 6 p.m. and the game begins at 7 p.m.
The various teams will distribute 75 full dinners, donated by Sysco Food Services of South Florida. This Thanksgiving will mark the eighth consecutive year that the University of Miami Athletics has reached out to the community during the holidays.
The six Miami-area organizations scheduled to pick up dinners are: Children & Families, Ronald McDonald House, Gladstone Center, Florida Baptist Home, Universal Truth Center, Child Hope
Miami returns 10 letterwinners, including four starters from last year’s 18-13 club.Preseason All-BIG EAST first team member Tamara James returns for her sophomore campaign after leading Miami and the league averaging 21.0 points per game last season.
Head coach Ferne Labati enters her 16th season at the helm of the Hurricanes basketball program. Labati is the all-time winningest women’s basketball coach at Miami with a record of 268-172.
Miami opens the regular season on Nov. 22 playing Morehead State in Morehead, Ky.
