Hurricanes Set to Take on Florida A&M

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami Volleyball team will host in-state foe Florida A&M on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Knight Sports Complex in Coral Gables.
FAMU (15-3, 8-0 MEAC) leads the series with one win after downing UM (16-4, 5-0 BIG EAST) in the two school’s only meeting, taking Miami, 3-0 on Oct. 1, 2001.
The Hurricanes are currently on an eight-match win streak after downing South Florida, 3-0 last Tuesday in Tampa, Fla. The Hurricanes held USF to .087 hitting percentage, marking the second-straight match UM has held an opponent under .090, to win the match.
“We are really excited about playing Florida A&M.” Head Coach Nicole Lantagne Welch said. “They have a great team and are currently receiving votes in the top 25. We are looking to get noticed nationally and this is a great opportunity for our team.”
