Taylor Named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week

Providence, R.I. – Miami safety Sean Taylor was named BIG EAST Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Taylor led the Hurricane defense in UM’s 22-14 victory at Florida State. The junior free safety recorded two interceptions, including a 50-yard return for a touchdown that gave the ‘Canes a 19-0 lead. He was credited with seven tackles (four solo), including 1.5 for losses of five yards. He also had four pass break-ups. Taylor is first in the BIG EAST and is tied for the national lead with six interceptions this season.
