CORAL GABLES, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami volleyball team blanked BIG EAST foe Boston College, 3-0 (30-17, 30-27, 30-30) on Sunday afternoon at the Knight Sports Complex to remain undefeated in conference play this season.
The Hurricanes (13-4, 3-0 BIG EAST) extended their home conference win streak to seven matches with the win over the Eagles (12-5, 2-2) and remain undefeated in Coral Gables against BIG EAST opponents, and are currently riding a five-match winning streak.
Miami jumped out to an early lead, taking BC 11-4 in the first game and never looked back. The Hurricanes overpowered the Eagles, out hitting BC .400 to -.047 to go on to a 30-17 win the first game, 30-17.

Miami pulled away on seven consecutive service points by Francheska Savage and would seal the game and the match with a 30-20.
“I thought we played a great match today,” Head Coach Nicole Lantagne Welch said. “It started with our defense, we had some big blocks by Robin Lewullis. That really made it easier for our backcourt to get some things off the ground.”
“Offensively, I thought we hit outstanding,” Lantagne Welch said. “Valeria Tipiana, Leyre Santaella Sante and Elizabeth Tyson were very efficient today.”
Robinson led the Hurricanes with a match-high 43 assists and posted a team-high 11 digs and four block assists. Tipiana lead all scorers with 15 kills along with eight digs and Santaella Sante turned in 13 kills in the win for the Hurricanes.
BC’s Katie Anderson lead all players with a match-high 13 digs and Verena Rost added 29 assists for the Eagles.
The Hurricanes will return to action on Friday, Oct. 10, hosting Georgetown at 7 p.m. at the Knight Sports Complex and will play Villanova at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12 in Coral Gables.
