Women's Basketball Downs Texas A&M, 84-58

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-Tamara James (Dania, Fla.) led all scorers with 33 points to lead the Miami women’s basketball team to an 84-58 victory over visiting Texas A&M Thursday night at Knight Sports Complex.
Miami improves to 5-3 overall and snaps the Aggies’ six-game winning streak as they fall to 6-2 on the season.
The Hurricanes are a perfect 4-0 at home this season and 2-0 in the all-time series with A&M.
James recorded her third double-double of the season as she pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds in 34 minutes of action.
Yalonda McCormick (Miami, Fla.) scored 11 points, dished out five assists and had six steals in 25 minutes of action.
Meghan Saake (Wellington, Fla.) also scored in double-digits with 13 points on the night.
Miami led by only one-point (23-22) with 6:59 remaining in the first-half. The Hurricanes ended the half on a 15-5 run taking the 38-37 lead into the locker room.
The Aggies were down by nine points right at the beginning of the second-half, but that was the closest they would come.
Miami re-gained its double-digit lead, leading by as many as 32 points.
Miami shot 47.8% from the field, compared to 32.1% for the Aggies.
The Hurricanes are back in action hosting Eastern Michigan Saturday at 7 p.m.
