Women's Basketball Plays Exhibition Game on Thursday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s basketball team will take on the Tournament of Champions on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. in an exhibition game in the Knight Sports Complex on UM’s campus. Admission is free.

Miami returns nine letterwinners, including four starters from last year’s 19-12 club. All-BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year Meghan Saake will lead the Hurricanes this season.

The senior guard averaged 11.2 points and 4.9 rebounds last season.

Head coach Ferne Labati enters her 15th season at the helm of the Hurricane basketball program.

Labati is the all-time winningest women’s basketball coach at Miami with a record of 250-159 (.611).

Miami opens the regular season on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. against South Florida in the Knight Sports Complex.
