Women's Basketball Falls To No. 23 Virginia Tech, 72-60

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) – Sarah Hicks scored 20 points as No. 23 Virginia Techbeat Miami 72-60 on Tuesday night to snap a three-game losing streak.
Erin Gibson and Nicole Jones each added 12 points for the Hokies (16-5, 7-3Big East), and Ieva Kublina had 10.
Meghan Saake led the Hurricanes (14-8, 7-5) with 13 points, ChaniviaBroussard added 11 and Kathryn Fowler 10.
The Hokies trailed 34-30 at halftime after shooting only 45.8 percent fromthe floor, to the Hurricanes’ 60.9 percent. Virginia Tech used a 13-2 run totake a 62-46 lead.
Gibson scored all 12 of her points in the second half.
The Hokies shot 68.4 percent in the second half, while Miami dropped to 29.4percent.
