Women's Basketball Edges Seton Hall, 56-54

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-Sophomore Shaquana Wilkins recorded her second double-double of the week to lead the Miami women’s basketball team to a 56-54 victory over visiting Seton Hall at Miami Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Wilkins scored 15 points and 11 rebounds in 34 minutes of action off of the bench.
Miami improves to 11-6 overall and 4-3 in the BIG EAST, SHU falls to 9-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
The game was tied three times and the lead changed five times in the first half. The ball was turned over a total of 27 times as both team’s shot below 26% from the field in the first half.
After trailing most of the first 20 minutes the Hurricanes managed to take a three-point lead (23-20) into the locker room at the half.
After trading the first few baskets of the second half, Miami went on a 7-0 run to take the lead. Seton Hall led only one time (46-45) with 5:47 remaining in the game.
The Hurricanes went on another 7-0 run to take the lead and assure the win over SHU.
Miami shot only 30% from the field compared to 34% for the Pirates.
The Hurricanes are back in action Wednesday travelling to face St. John’s at 7:30 p.m.
