Miami Women's Basketball Plays West Virginia For The Second Time This Season

MORGANTOWN, WV-The University of Miami women’s basketball team continues its three-game BIG EAST road swing playing West Virginia for the second time this season Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Morgantown, WV.

The Hurricanes (9-4 overall, 2-1 in the BIG EAST) beat the Mountaineers (7-5 overall, 0-2 in the BIG EAST) on Dec. 4, 69-53, in Coral Gables. Miami leads the all-time series 11-1, losing only one time during the 1996-97 season in a, 75-70, defeat on the road.

Miami is coming off of its first win over Rutgers since the 1996-97 season. UM beat Rutgers 67-53 in Piscataway, NJ Saturday afternoon.

WVU fell, 59-44, on the road to Villanova Saturday night, playing its first two conference games away from WVU Coliseum.

Martha Bodley (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) led Miami in the win over the Scarlet Knights with 18 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Meghan Saake leads the Hurricanes offense averaging 12.5 points per game. Sophomore Kate Bulger leads the Mountaineers with 17.8 points per game. The game will be broadcast live on WVUM (90.5 FM).
