Women's Basketball Falls To Minnesota, 80-65

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The Hurricanes’ loss to Minnesota 80 -65 ended their five-game win streak Sunday, December 30 at the Knight Sports Complex.
The Hurricanes drop to 8-3 on the season, while the Golden Gophers improve to 10-2.
Sophomore forward Chanivia Broussard (Miami, Fla.) led the Hurricanes with 17 points and five rebounds.
Sophomore forward Shaquana Wilkins (Plymouth, Fla.) added 12 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman guard Melissa Knight (Philadelphia, Pa.) contributed with 11 points.
The Golden Gophers also had three players in double-digits, led by sophomore guard Lindsay Whalen’s 24 points, six rebounds and six steals.
Junior guard Corrin Von Wald added 17 points, while sophomore forward Kadidja Andersson recorded 14 points.
The Hurricanes shot only 34 percent from the field to Minnesota’s 49 percent.
