MIAMI (AP) – Chanivia Broussard scored 23 points and added six blocks andfive steals to lead Miami to a 57-55 victory of No. 17 Texas on Sunday that wasdecided by a video replay after time expired.
Texas’ Tracy Cooks appeared to hit a game-winning 3-pointer as time expired,but it was waved off. The shot was initially ruled good, but officialsdisallowed the basket after watching a replay that showed the ball was still inCook’s hands as time ran out.
Miami (5-2) took a 46-42 lead when Broussard converted a 3-point play with11:08 remaining. Alisha Sare’s 3-pointer a minute later gave Texas a lead theyheld until Sheila James’ 3-pointer with 18 seconds remaining.
James’ shot capped a 7-0 Miami run over the last 2:45.
The Lady Longhorns (6-1) trailed 32-22 with 4:08 left in the first half,before going on a 18-2 run over the next 10:12 to take a 38-32 lead early inthe second half.
Kaira White and Heather Scheiber paced Texas with 13 points each. Cook had10.
The teams combined for 56 turnovers, 32 by Texas.
