Women's Basketball Falls To Kentucky, 60-57

LEXINGTON, Ky.-The Miami women’s basketball team missed a three-pointer at the buzzer falling to Kentucky 60-57 on the road Saturday night in Memorial Coliseum.
The Hurricanes slip to 3-2 overall, while the Wildcats improve to 3-2 on the season.
Kentucky owns a 5-1 all-time advantage over Miami.
Meghan Saake (Wellington, Fla.), Shaquana Wilkins (Plymouth, Fla.) and Chanivia Broussard (Miami, Fla.) led the Hurricanes with 12 points a piece in the losing effort.
Miami opened the game on a 5-0 run, the Wildcats answered back with four in a row. The game was knotted up four times during the period, until UK took the lead with 5:17 left in the half.
The Wildcats went on a 9-0 run to build the lead in the remaining minutes of the first half, taking the 32-25 lead into the locker room at halftime.
UK maintained the lead throughout the second half, the closest the Hurricanes came was 54-53 with 1:37 left in the game.
The Wildcats stayed in control of the game and won as the Hurricanes down by three with 13 seconds left in the game missed a three pointer.
Miami had a season-high of 28 turnovers in the contest.
Miami shot 39% from the field, while UK shot 35%.
The Hurricanes are back in action Tuesday playing host to West Virginia as they open BIG EAST play.
