Women's Basketball Hosts Exhibition Game On Friday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s basketball team will take on the University of the Virgin Islands All-Star team on Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. in an exhibition game in the Knight Sports Complex on UM’s campus. Admission is free.

Miami returns nine letterwinners, including four starters from last years 13-15 club.All-BIG EAST Freshman Chanivia Broussard will lead the Hurricanes this season.

The sophomore forward was the leading scorer (13.2) and second-leading rebounder (5.6) as a rookie starter last season.

Head coach Ferne Labati enters her 14th season at the helm of the Hurricane basketball program. Labati is the all-time winningest women’s basketball coach at Miami with a record of 231-147 (.611).

Miami opens the regular season on Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. against Iona in the Knight Sports Complex.
