Freshman Yolanda Whigham Named To Big East All-Star Squad

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami guard Yolanda “Lonnie” Whigham(Plant City, Fla.) has been named to the 2001 BIG EAST Women’s BasketballAll-Star Team that will tour Germany June 10-20.

This marks the 12th consecutive year that The BIG EAST Conference is sendinga women’s basketball all-star squad abroad. Prior to their departure, theplayers will attend a pre-tour training camp at Boston College June 8-10.

The 14-member squad, comprised of one representative from each BIG EASTschool, will play five games against the top club teams in Germany. The teamwill be coached this summer by Syracuse University head coach MariannaFreeman.
