Women's Basketball Plays Boston College In BIG EAST Tournament

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The University of Miami women’s basketball team will travel to Storrs, Conn. to face Boston College in the first round of the BIG EAST tournament Saturday at 6 p.m.

The 10th seeded Hurricanes enter the contest with an overall record of 13-14 and 6-10 in the BIG EAST. The 7th seeded Eagles are 13-14 overall and 7-9 in conference.

Miami is 11-7 all-time in tournament games and 1-0 against BC in the tournament.

The Hurricanes own a 13-4 all-time advantage over the Eagles and have won the last five-of-six meetings.

Chanivia Broussard, a Miami native, leads the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game. She has scored in double-digits in 21 of the 26 games she has played in, including scoring in double digits in 16 of the last 18 games.

Becky Gottstein leads the Eagles with 16.4 points per game.

If the Hurricanes beat BC they will face the No. 2 seed Connecticut Sunday at 6 p.m.
