Women's Basketball Set To Face West Virginia

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The University of Miami women’s basketball team plays host to West Virginia in a BIG EAST matchup slated for 7 p.m. Wednesday night at Knight Sports Complex.

Miami enters the contest 10-10 overall and 3-6 in BIG EAST play, while West Virginia is 4-16 overall and 2-7 in conference play.

Miami is currently in ninth place in the BIG EAST standings, the Mountaineers are in 11th place.

The Hurricanes lead the all-time series with the Mountaineers 9-1, including riding a six-game win streak into Wednesday’s game. UM is 5-0 when playing WVU in Knight Sports Complex.

Dalia Clarke (Antigua, West Indies) committed her third double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds as she led UM to a 52-46 victory over Georgetown Saturday night. Clarke leads the team averaging 6.8 rebounds per game.

Chanivia Broussard (Miami, Fla.) continues to lead the UM offense averaging 12.4 points per game.

The Mountaineers are currently on a seven-game losing streak, falling 93-54 to Syracuse Saturday night.

Freshman Kate Bulger leads WVU with 14.1 points per game, while teammate Zsofia Horvath leads the team with 6.5 rebounds per game.

The game will air on Fox SportsNet Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The game will be broadcast on WVUM (90.5 FM) it is scheduled to air following the UM baseball game.
