Women's Basketball Hosts Take A Kid To The Game Day

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – Area youngsters had an opportunity to experience the college game-dayatmosphere when the University of Miami hosted NCAA Basketball’s annual”Take a Kid to the Game” (TAKG) program on February 3rd, 2001.

Over 300 area youths took advantage of the program as they watched theHurricanes take on the Georgetown Hoyas at the Knight Sports Complexlocated on the Coral Gables campus. The participants watched an excitingbasketball game as the Hurricanes defeated the Hoyas 52-46.

The University of Miami is one of over 150 schools nation wide toparticipate in this campaign focused on attracting more of the nation’syouth to college games. The TAKG program is entering its sixth year in thepromotion of the NCAA athletics.

Ticket Sales representatives were prepared for the TAKG program. Over 300 area youths participated in the program.
