Women's Basketball Travels To Face Pittsburgh

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The University of Miami women’s basketball team will travel to face Pittsburgh in a BIG EAST matchup Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House.

Miami (9-9 overall, 2-5 in the BE) is currently in a tie for ninth place in the BIG EAST standings with West Virginia, while Pittsburgh (8-11 overall, 2-6 in the BE) is tied for 11th place with Boston College.

No. 1 Notre Dame leads the conference standings with a perfect 8-0 conference record and 19-0 overall, No. 2 Connecticut (17-1 overall, 7-1 in conference) is in second place.

The Hurricanes enter the contest on a four-game losing streak after falling 39-37 to No. 14 Rutgers Saturday night at the buzzer. UM is 0-3 versus BIG EAST opponents in Knight Sports Complex, and 2-2 on the road.

Miami owns a 12-7 all-time lead over Pitt, including winning the last five out of six meetings.

Freshman Shaquana Wilkins (Plymouth, Fla.) came off of the bench to lead Miami with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the loss to Rutgers.

Freshman Chanivia Broussard (Miami, Fla.) continues to lead the Miami offense, averaging 12.4 points per game.

Sophomore, Mandy Wittenmyer, who averages 13.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, leads the Panthers.
