Women's Basketball Falls To Virginia Tech, 64-51

The University of Miami women’s basketball team fell 64-51 to BIG EAST opponent Virginia Tech Sunday afternoon in Blacksburg, Va.
Miami falls to 7-5 overall and 0-2 in the BIG EAST, while VT improves to 10-4 overall and 1-2 in conference action.
Chanivia Broussard (Miami, Fla.) was the lone UM player to score in double digits with 10 points.
Miami opened the game with a layup by Meghan Saake (Wellington, Fla.) to put UM on top by two. That was the only lead UM would have throughtout the game.
The Hokies led 35-23 at halftime, after shooting 59.1% in the first half. Tere Williams led VT with a total of 22 points, including 11 first half points.
VT opened up the second half on an 18-4 run to secure the win over UM for its first-everr BIG EAST win.
The Hurricanes continue their three-game road swing with Boston College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
