Women's Basketball Downs Radford, 83-48
CORAL GABLES, Fla.–Sheila James (Rubonia, Fla.) scored a career-high 28 points to lead the University of Miami women’s basketball team to an 83-48 victory over visiting Radford Tuesday afternoon in Knight Sports Complex.
Miami (7-4) extends its win streak to three in a row, the longest of the season, while Radford falls to 5-8 on the season.
James was 11-of-13 from the field, including a perfect four-of-four from the three-point range.
Meghan Saake (Wellington, Fla.) dished out a career-high 10 assists in the win.
The Hurricanes opened the game on a 13-2 run, and maintained the lead for the remainder of the game. UM owned a 21-point (48-27) lead at halftime after shooting a season-high of 55.6% in the first half.
UM forced 25 turnovers and outrebounded the Highlanders 48-39. The Hurricanes shot 51.6% for the game compared to 25.4% for Radford.
Alicia Hartlaub (Schaefferstown, Pa.) scored in double digits for the fourth consecutive game with 16 points, while Chanivia Boussard (Miami, Fla.) UM’s leading scorer added 12.
Amanda Marks was the lone Radford player to score in double digits with 11 points.
