Women's Basketball Faces South Florida Saturday

CORAL GABLES, Fla.– The University of Miami women’s basketball team will play host to South Florida Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the Knight Sports Complex on the UM campus.

Miami enters the contest 2-3 overall, while South Florida is 2-5 overall.

This will be the 36th meeting between the two teams, the Hurricanes hold a 25-10 advantage over the Bulls. Miami is 12-1 all-time when playing USF in Knight Sports Complex.

UM fell 78-48 to Florida International on the road last Saturday. Camilla Osth (Sodertalje, Sweden) led the Hurricanes with 12 points in the contest. She also picked up four steals and four blocked shots in the losing effort.

Freshman Chanivia Broussard (Miami, Fla.) currently leads the Hurricane offense, averaging 10.0 points per game. Meghan Saake (Wellington, Fla.) leads the team with 5.2 rebounds per game.

USF fell 52-47 to Indiana on Dec. 5 in Tampa, FL. Aiya Shepard leads the Bulls with 20.4 points per game, while Denetrice Stinson leads the team with 7.0 rebounds per game.

The game will be broadcast live on WVUM (90.5 FM).
