Women's Basketball Falls To Northwestern

EVANSTON, IL–The University of Miami women’s basketball team fell 56-48 to Northwetern on the road Friday night in Evanston, Ill.
Miami falls to 1-1 overall, while Northwestern improves to 2-0 on the season.
Sheila James (Rubonia, Fla.) was the lone Hurricane to score in double-digits, scoring a game-high 18 points. She also dished out four assists and picked up four steals.
Alicia Hartlaub (Schaefferstown, Pa.) had a team-high seven rebounds.
Miami started the game on a 6-0 run, but NU was quick to answer back tying the game and then taking the lead. The Wildcats took a 34-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Miami cut the lead to five with 5:23 left to play in the game, but that was as close as they would get, the Wildcats went on to win by a margin of eight points.
UM shot 26.8 percent from the field, compared to 41.5 percent for the Wildcats.
Miami returns to the Knight Sports Complex taking on St. Bonaventure Saturday Dec. 2 at 7 p.m.
