SYRACUSE, N.Y.–The University of Miami women’s soccer team wraps up BIG EAST conference play with a 3-0 loss on the road to Syracuse Friday night in Syracuse, N.Y.

Miami falls to 6-7 overall and 2-3 in the BIG EAST, while Syracuse improves to 9-4 overall and 3-2 in conference.

With the win, Syracuse moves to third place in the Northeast division of the BIG EAST, Miami drops to fourth place. Connecticut remains in first place in the standings, while #16 Boston College is in second place.

The Hurricanes had a total of 14 shots on the night, 13 of the 14 shots were on goal. The SU goalkeeper had a tremendous night on goal making 13 saves. SU had a total of 20 shots in the winning effort.

Syracuse scored two goals in the first half and went on to score one more in the second half to secure the 3-0 shutout over the Hurricanes.

Lisa Gomez (Boca Raton, Fla.) led the UM offense with five shots on goal.

Miami will be back in action Sunday afternoon taking on Colgate at 1 p.m. in Hamilton, N.Y.
