Moss Takes 13th In Long Jump

Durham, NC – University of Miami junior Santana Moss (Carol City) finished 13th in the long jump with a leap of 7.31 meters (23-11.75) at the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Durham, NC.
Moss, the 2000 BIG EAST Most Outstanding Field Performer, won conference titles in the long jump and triple jump this season. He entered the NCAA Championships ranked ninth in the nation in the long jump.
On the women’s side, junior Wyllesheia Myrick (Miami Northwestern) finished 2nd in her heat with a time of 23.40 to advance to Friday’s semifinals of the 200-meters.
Myrick, the 2000 United States Track Coaches South Region Women’s Outdoor Athlete of the Year, is the 2000 BIG EAST 200-meter Champion and conference record holder in the event. Her qualifying time was the sixth fastest of the preliminaries.
In the women’s 800-meters, junior All-American Natalie Watson (Coral Springs) finished 10th (2:06.07) while freshman Patricia Pearson (Jacksonville, FL) took 13th (2:06.46).
