Moss sets BIG EAST Championship record

SYRACUSE, NY – Junior Santana Moss set the BIG EAST Championship meet record in the semi-finals of the 60-meter dash (6.77) on Saturday at the BIG EAST Championships.
Moss, freshman Tory Mitchell (6.81) and freshman Clinton Portis (6.94) all advanced to the Sunday finals in the 60-meter dash. Junior Shane Brown advanced to the finals in the 200-meter dash (21.74), while sophomore Gus Martin advanced to the finals in both the 200-meter dash (22.03) and the 60-meter high hurdles (8.10). Also for the men, junior Joseph Mbayen scored four points for the team with his fifth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 7.19m (23-07.25).
The Hurricane men are in 11th place with 4 points after one day of competition.
The championships will continue through Feb. 20.
