CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s basketball team (2-1, 0-0BIG EAST) was defeated by Tulane, 75-66, in a non-conference match-up onSunday at the Knight Sports Complex on the Coral Gables campus.
The Hurricanes fell behind, 34-32, at the half and were unable to get anycloser after being out-scored, 41-34, by the Green Wave followingintermission. The ‘Canes trailed by as much as 12 but pulled within four atthe 13:43 mark on a Dalia Clarke (Antigua, West Indies/Marshalltown CC)lay-up.
Clarke finished with a team-high 19 points. Senior Gina Graziani (PembrokePines/Cooper City) recorded her second consecutive and seventh careerdouble-double with 11 points and 10 assists. Freshman Alicia Hartlaub(Schaefferstown, PA/Elco) led the rebounding effort with 11.
Tulane was led by guard Grace Daley’s 21 points and five assists. CenterJanell Burse followed with 15 points and 11 boards.
