Appearances are available upon request, pending Sebastian’s Schedule. It is preferred that you request Sebastian with at least a one-month notice. Appearances are not confirmed until one month prior to the event.
About Booking Sebastian
It is recommended all requests be made one month prior to the event. Requests will be responded to in ten (10) to twelve (12) business days. Submitting a request does not guarantee an appearance.
In the event that an appearance must be cancelled, notice must be given at least 24 hours prior to the start of the event or 50% of the event will be charged.
Mascots are available for appearances throughout the year however the summer months, as well as, Winter Break may be harder to fulfill an appearance request due to school being out of session.
Appearance fees vary based on the type of appearance.
Internally paid university appearances, as well as non-profit organization appearances, are $150 per hour. This is a discounted rate to cover costs incurred.
Private Events within Miami-Dade County are $321.
Private Events for Broward or Monroe County is $360
Pricing for appearances outside of Miami-Dade County will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Any events outside of Miami-Dade, Broward, or Monroe County will be subject to a gas fee and overnight accommodations for Sebastian. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Accurate directions, location, on-site contact and on-site phone number must be provided.
If requested by the mascot, an on-site contact must be available to escort the mascot to and from their vehicle for security purposes.
The on-site contact must provide accurate directions for Sebastian’s arrival or be present to receive him. Failure to do so may result in Sebastian missing the event without a refund.
Parking must be provided for the mascot.
A private and secure changing room (not a bathroom or a closet) must be provided for the mascot to change and keep belongings locked during the appearance.
Water, preferably bottled, must be provided to the mascot.
The mascot cannot be required to be inside the suit for longer than a maximum of one hour at a time before taking a break. If the appearance is outdoors please allow extra breaks during that allotted time. The mascot is unable to perform in severe weather.
The University of Miami does not provide a certificate of liability insurance. The requestor assumes all responsibility when submitting the mascot request form.
A friendly and safe environment must be maintained. Mascots reserve the right to walk away from any appearance deemed unsafe or harmful and refunds (if applicable) will not be granted.
All publicity for the event, whether in advance or afterwards, which mentions an appearance by a mascot or uses university marks (logos), must be approved by the University of Miami Athletics Department before use. For approval please contact Spirit Coordinator, Cecilia Esteban Here.
