Max Elder began at the University of Miami in July of 2021 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with Football.
Prior to his arrival in Coral Gables, Elder spent two seasons with the University of Akron Men’s Basketball program during which time the team won a conference championship. Elder also worked with the Women’s Tennis and Golf programs.
In 2018-2019, Elder completed an internship with Michigan State University Football. This followed two years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer in East Lansing, Mich., during which time Elder worked with Football and Women’s Tennis.
Elder graduated from Hope College in 2016 with a BA in Athletic Training in addition to being a letter winner in Football. He completed an MS in Kinesiology with a focus in Athletic Training at Michigan State University in 2018. In addition to teaching undergraduate courses, Elder successfully defended his thesis focused on return to learn protocols for concussed athletes in the collegiate setting.
Originally from West Bloomfield, Mich., Elder and his wife Ashley reside in Miami.
