Erika Gonzalez-Rebull joined the University of Miami as the sports nutrition coordinator for Olympic sports in September 2019.
Gonzalez-Rebull is a licensed registered dietitian and meets with student-athletes across all Olympic sports to provide individualized nutrition interventions to optimize performance, assist with injury prevention and treatment, address any medical nutrition conditions and determine energy requirements. Additionally, she provides all student-athletes with opportunities to develop the skills needed to be able to meet the energy demands of a Division I student-athlete by giving grocery store tours and teaching cooking classes.
Prior to joining the University of Miami, Gonzalez-Rebull was an assistant sports nutrition consultant for the Chicago Cubs. She managed and oversaw the nutrition for their Double-A minor league team, the Tennessee Smokies. Some of Erika’s responsibilities as the team dietitian included: developing pre- and post-game menus, providing one-on-one consultations, implementing pre- and post-training routines, helping the athletes with game day nutrition, creating position specific protocols, reviewing supplements and managing all food service operations.
Erika earned her BSE in Exercise Physiology from the University of Miami in 2014 and in 2018 earned her MS in Nutrition in Dietetics from Florida International University. During her studies at FIU, Erika worked as a Graduate Assistant for the athletic department assisting in the development of their sports nutrition program.
